Bologna Ambassador Awards 2025: on April 14, we celebrate this year's honorees

One of the most highly anticipated events in Bologna’s calendar is back: the seventh edition of the Bologna Ambassador Awards will take place on Monday, April 14, at 6:00 PM in the stunning Cappella Farnese at Palazzo d'Accursio.
This annual event honors professionals from the academic, medical, scientific, professional, business, sports, and institutional sectors who have strengthened Bologna’s visibility and prestige by bringing significant congresses and other major events to the city. They are awarded the title of Bologna Ambassador, a recognition that highlights their contribution to the scientific, cultural, and economic development of the destination.
The project, which was created to enhance the destination's intellectual capital, prominent personalities with solid professional reputations and a network of national and international relationships, has created a community of as many as 85 Bologna Ambassadors.
The program
The event will open with institutional greetings from some of the city’s most prominent figures and industry representatives:
- Matteo Lepore, Mayor of Bologna
- Mattia Santori, President of the Territorio Turistico Bologna-Modena
- Maria Letizia Guerra, Delegate for Public Engagement, Alma Mater Studiorum - University of Bologna
- Daniele Ravaglia, President of Fondazione Bologna Welcome
- Celso De Scrilli, President of the Bologna Convention Bureau Technical Committee
This gathering will provide an opportunity to review the performance of Bologna’s meetings and events industry, which has seen remarkable growth in recent years. The city's success is reflected in its ranking among the Top 50 worldwide and the Top 3 in Italy, following only Rome and Milan, as one of the leading destinations for association congresses, according to the 2023 ICCA Ranking.
Following the institutional addresses, the award ceremony for the new Bologna Ambassadors will take place, culminating in an elegant cocktail reception at the Sala di Re Enzo of Palazzo Re Enzo. Those interested in attending can register by filling out the form here.
