Sustainable mobility: Bologna is the most eco-mobile city in Italy according to Euromobility
November 25, 2024
Bologna ranks as Italy's most eco-mobile city thanks to its innovative and efficient sustainable mobility policies, as certified by its 18th “Sustainable Mobility in Italy: Survey of the Top 50 Cities” report. The ranking, which is sponsored by the Ministry of the Environment and Land and Sea Protection, was presented during MobyDixit, the annual benchmark event for the sustainable mobility sector.
The report is produced by Euromobility, a nonprofit association that has been promoting green transportation in Italy for more than two decades, raising awareness of green mobility through educational activities and technical consulting. The organization runs observatories with the aim of monitoring the progress of Italian cities and supports public administrations in adopting sustainable practices, such as car sharing, car pooling and cycling.
According to the association, Bologna particularly stands out for its efficient use of public transportation and adoption of innovative sharing mobility solutions, which are leading to a marked reduction in traffic accidents and pollutant emissions and improving air quality. Following Bologna on the podium are Parma in second place and Milan in third, then joined by Turin, Venice, Bergamo, Florence, Brescia, Prato and Ferrara.
Bologna is confirmed as one of the cities leading the way toward an increasingly green urban future, demonstrating that sustainable mobility is a goal that is not only desirable, but concrete and attainable.
