The universe of Ceramics lands at BolognaFiere for Cersaie 2024

The fair district of Bologna is gathering dozens of thousands of professionals around these days for the 41^st edition of Cersaie, the International Exhibition of Ceramic Tile and Bathroom Furnishings. The event is one of the main driving forces that enliven the Bologna destination every year, attracting the attention of industry professionals from all over the world.

The international fair, historically tied to the area, is promoted by Confindustria Ceramica in collaboration with BolognaFiere Spa and organized by EDI.CER. spa - Soc. Unipersonale and aims to present the technological, design and service excellence of the multi-billion euro industry.

Scheduled from Monday, September 23 to Friday, September 27, Cersaie occupies an impressive 15 pavilions of BolognaFiere this year, with a total area of 145,000 m², and welcomes as many as 606 exhibiting companies, 38% of which come from 25 foreign countries. Expectations are to replicate and outshine the remarkable results achieved in the highly successful 2023 edition, which recorded 99,319 visitors, including 47,634 international visitors from 169 countries. Every year, the well-known exhibition has a great economic impact on the city and creates important business opportunities for the area.

Officially launching the event was the conference “Energy Transition and International Competitiveness for Italian Ceramics,” addressing energy sustainability and ecological transition; the industry, notably environmentally conscious, has in fact invested more than 2 billion euros over the last few years to achieve 100% recycling of water and production waste. In attendance at the inauguration were the Minister of the Environment, Gilberto Pichetto Fratin, the President of Confindustria, Emanuele Orsini, the Regional Councillor for Economic Development, Vincenzo Colla, the President of ICE, Matteo Zoppas, the President of Confindustria Ceramica, Augusto Ciarrocchi, and the President of BolognaFiere, Gianpiero Calzolari.

In addition to the rich exhibition area, Cersaie offers a wide range of educational opportunities, featuring meetings, exhibits and conferences on architecture, design and economics. These events are tailored for all the different categories of professionals attending the fair: architects, designers, contractors, retailers, installers, interior designers and even the end consumer. Leading international speakers in the field of design will be on stage to share their experiences and knowledge.

The event's offer is complemented by a Career Day, which will connect companies directly with those seeking employment in the industry, and the presentation of two prestigious awards: the ADI Ceramics & Bathroom Design Award and the ADI Booth Design Award. A new addition to this year's edition is the Tile Competition, an international competition that honors the best architectural projects made with “Ceramics of Italy” certified Italian ceramic tiles.
