The Museum is housed in the prestigious Palazzo Sanguinetti, in the historic center of Bologna.
At the main floor, the nine splendidly frescoed rooms of the exhibition itinerary, where six centuries of music history are retraced with paintings of illustrious characters, ancient musical instruments and a selection of historical documents of enormous value:
The book collection is known for its collection of printed music from the 16th to the 18th century, for the precious manuscripts, for the opera librettos, for the unique collection of autographs and letters signed by the most famous musicians, composers, singers, music theorists.
